What is Reiki ?
How Reiki works ?
Use of Reiki

REIKI Defined...

Reiki is an energy healing. Not only on the physical level but also on the emotional and mental level before any illness has surfaced in the physical body.

Emotional upset and mental stress will with time surface and manifest itself as physical imbalances, attitudes and destructive habits.

REIKI:

Rei = Universal
Ki = Life Force Energy

How Reiki Works...

Inside every human being there is a subtle system of channels (nadis/meridians) and centres of energy (chakras) which look after our physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual being.

·        Reiki flows through this system
·        Ida/Pingla/Sushumna are main Nadis for flow of Reiki
·        All beings are given a spark of Ki at birth, which is stored in them for life
·        This Ki energy has its own force field, known as Aura, which has colors.

·        Along spine there are seven energy transformers in form of vortices known as Chakra
·        Flow of Reiki removes blocks and balances Chakras and increases Ki.

When the physical body is charged with Reiki, the aura from the ethereal body surrounds the physical body like a protective layer, about 5 cm (2 Inches) thick. This ethereal aura protects us from negative vibrations and it radiates vital energy to our surroundings. However, negative thoughts and emotions as well as an unhealthy lifestyle leads to a weakening of this health aura. This aura can be documented on photographic paper with Kirlian photography.

Use of Reiki

·                     Reiki your SELF daily and rid yourself of stress, anxiety and fear.
·                     Reiki your medicine whether allopathic or herbal.
·                     Reiki your family member.
·                     Send Reiki to your kith and kin living far away.
·                     Send Reiki to your future.
·                     Send Reiki to your past.
·                     Send Reiki to your Dream.

Consumerism and Peace of mind

Consumerism and Peace of mind

There is no end to materialistic desires/possessions. The self-centrist approach to life gives birth to a tendency to run after money, acquire & hoard worldly goods/objects beyond one’s need to the extent that it even pollutes one’s mind with inclination to grab what belongs to someone else thus generating unhealthy competition, tension, conflict & violence. The mind becomes restless & distracted resulting in loss of inner peace. Money cannot buy peace and happiness. Monitor, restrain and curb the urge to own more money, gems, gold, land or other valuables. Self-restraint, self-control & self-detachment imbibed in thoughts, the virtues and values acquired on judicious introspection, helps one find bliss and peace.

Quest to Overachieve & Overreach - A Sign of Imbalance

Quote
A person usually reaches home after work late, tired & irritated. One day he/she finds his/her 5 year old child waiting for him/her at the door. The little child asks his/her parent “how much money do you make an hour?". The parent is furious and angrily replies “I make Rs 100 an hour." I work long, hard hours every day t0 buy you food, dress, toys etc. The little child quietly, head bowed, went to his room.

The child saves his/her pocket money over a month. The person, a month later, again finds his/her little child waiting for him at the door. The moment person enters home the child says "Dear Parent, I have Rs 100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?"
Unquote

“Do you Think the person has been so selfish not to give time to his/her child."  If it is what you feel with respect to person’s choices & lifestyle, it is worth examining in order to balance our own lives also for a more rewarding experience.

Sometimes, unknowingly, we create imbalance while in our pursuit to overachieve or need to be the best at something. Overachievers are people who have achieved but still feel the need to do more, creating an imbalance in their lives. People who exhibit this behavior may be trying to compensate for feelings of insecurity & doubts about their worth. They may be chasing unresolved issues from their past into the present, or they might not be looking at their lives as a whole, but judging themselves based only on one aspect of their being.

If we do not permit ourselves to experience & enjoy the present moment, putting pleasure off for later in the future, we are being driven to achieve more than is truly essential. Pushing ourselves selfishly to the exclusion of important people in our lives, or beyond the point of exhaustion, robs us of true & meaningful joy. We need to look to those we love & admire and note what we like about them, divert those feelings towards ourselves in order to realize what we value about life & allow our priorities to shift from chasing after an elusive feeling to being fully present in the moment so that we can live our lives in the now.

When we put the energy that we have been devoting to a phantom sense of achievement into the truly satisfying aspects of our lives, we can restore the balance between our inner and outer worlds and experience true joyful peace.

Mental fatigue – empty your mind

Mental fatigue – empty your mind

Human mind, knowingly or unknowingly, is always pre-occupied with racing thoughts because of the societal pressures. These thoughts force us to continue to do things/activities, bound to stress us, in our endeavour to get maximum from our life in terms of success & happiness resulting in mental fatigue. We need to internalise the habit of giving a break to our busy schedule to spend time with families/loved ones, for freedom to pursue our hobbies/passion, to heal & revitalise ourselves in order to feel the bliss on our way to an intrinsic level of joy – the ultimate purpose of our existence.  Examine your thoughts, introspect, decipher weaknesses and strengths, prioritise & stop doing futile things/activities and enrich yourself with emotional freedom for self growth.

Happiness enhancing hormones

Happiness enhancing Hormones

Child/self is not happy in life despite blessed with the best of everything in life. Do not understand the real cause of unhappiness. Just give this a try to make your child & yourself stay happy and well prepared to deal with challenges and problems better.

1. Start outdoor sports/exercise half an hour daily. Our body releases Endorphins (hormone) that helps the body cope with the pain of exercising. Soon we start enjoying exercise because Endorphins make us happy. Laughter is another way of generating Endorphins. Read or watch funny stuff to get our day's dose of Endorphins.

2. Acknowledge, appreciate & reward each and every small-big accomplishment/ achievement to facilitating release of Dopamine (another hormone) that makes feel good & happy.

3. Motivate to share and act for the benefit of others or nature or the society and become nice human being, it releases Serotonin (another hormone) that determines human happiness.

4. Hug each other, hold hands or put arms around other’s shoulders, Oxytocin (another happiness enhancing hormone) is released.

Taking time to understand purpose of life & expectations, thinking big, having long term vision, identifying & taking concrete steps to accomplish goal, Self belief, motivation, integrity, taking inspiration from insights in journey of life, respect for others and own well being must be on priority list to lead a happy life.
